Karley Heirigs, LPN:  Karley is the Union County Nurse.  She is available every Tuesday from 8:30-5:00 to give immunizations by appointment only.  Karley is currently a member of the child protection team “CPT”.  Karley is a member of the Clay / Union point of distribution “POD”.

 

Jen Wechsler, RN, BSN, CLC: Jen is a nurse with the South Dakota Department of Health and the Women, Infant, and Child (WIC) Program. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that provides nutritional support during critical times of growth.  WIC also prescribes food benefits to promote and support the nutritional well-being of the participants.  Jen gives free monthly prenatal education and breastfeeding information for expectant mothers through the Baby Care and WIC Programs.  She also administers Cribs for Kids, a program developed by the South Dakota Departments of Health and Social Services to help families provide a Safe Sleep environment for newborns.  Jen provides counseling and medication for the State of South Dakota’s Tuberculosis Program.
